FASCIST RAJAPAKSE’S RACIST REGIME

Death for five Indian fishermen

The Colombo High Court has awarded the death sentence to five Tamil Nadu fishermen on 6th November 2014. These fishermen were arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy in November 2011 on drug trafficking charges, an allegation which they have strongly denied. Government’s assessment on the basis of due diligence also shows that the fishermen are innocent of drug smuggling charges. Moreover, as per Sri Lankan laws, death sentence is not applicable to drug trafficking crimes. In spite of all these, even after it is proven beyond doubt that the fishermen are falsely framed, death sentence has been awarded against Sri Lanka’s own laws.

* When the Somali pirates were attempting to attack the Indian merchant vessels belonging to corporate giants, government sent Indian Navy to Gulf of Aden to safeguard them.

* When sons of rich Indian citizens studying in Australia were attacked, the central government was writhing; and Supreme Court was flustering in anxiety.

* Now! There is only a ghastly silence from Central Government as well as Supreme Court. Hundreds and hundreds of fishermen are being killed by the Sri Lankan army every year. Sri Lankan government is audacious enough to arrest Indian citizens and award death sentence to a crime that they did not commit. Neither the Central Government nor the Supreme Court is ready to utter a word – because those who are killed are ‘worthless’ poor fishermen!

Modi government is acting as a stooge to the imperialist US, which is trying to establish its hegemony in South Asia against China. India also wants to use Sri Lanka for its expanding its capital. In this situation, the primary duty that Modi engaged in is protecting the investments made by Indian comprador bourgeois in Sri Lanka. So, India turns a blind eye to whatever crimes Sri Lanka commits, and shows interest only at expanding its capital and establishing its hegemony. Indian Rajapakse is Modi and Srilankan Modi is Rajapakse: Both Modi and Rajapakse are two sides of the same coin. Both these governments want to serve the interest of large corporations, for which these fishermen are a hindrance. So both these governments are using a number of different ways to evict the fishermen from the seas, which had been their home for thousands of years now.

More than half of India’s protein requirement is fulfilled by sea food. Fishermen are risking their life almost everyday in order fulfil the needs of our nation and its people. But our government, instead of showing gratitude, is determined to destroy the lives of fishermen for the benefit of their imperialist masters. Fishermen are leading their life in such a grave situations for more than 35 years now. Now this death sentence is another attempt by the government to remove fishermen from the shores.

Why the government want to remove fishermen from the shores? Indian forests belong to tribal people; in the same way the ocean surrounding our nation belongs to the fishermen. Similar to the tribal people, who have been living in forests for thousands of years, fishermen have been living on the shores for thousands of years. There are overwhelming amount of scientific and historic evidences for this. When the imperialists found that our forests hold immeasurable amount of wealth, our government acted with such fervour and commitment to swiftly drive away the sons of forests and hand over the mineral riches to their imperialist masters. Similarly, the 20 lakh sq.km area surrounding 8000km of Indian shores holds immeasurable amount of wealth in terms of marine life and other minerals. Now our Indian government is trying to ‘clear off’ the sons of seas, who are becoming a hindrance to the unrestrained plundering of our oceans by the imperialists.

Indian fishermen depend on ocean and marine life for their survival. They are being torn and thrown away from their homes; lest killed by the guns of our own or the army of neighbouring countries. This displacement of fisher tribe is being done in the name of tourism promotion, coastal area development, and fishing rights to transnational corporations. The ‘ugly’ fishermen are driven away from the beautiful shores, in order to build luxury sea-facing resorts on the shores for ‘beautiful’ people. While they are being attacked from navies from one side, the cunning imperialist have also arranged to send their NGOs on to our shores. There are a number of NGOs operating across our shores who are teaching roti making, brick making etc to the fisher tribe. Fishermen are being attacked by the imperialism and our own government through force as well as NGOs.

Believing in parliamentary parties is of no use. Strong and united struggle against imperialism has to be built up by Peoples Protest is the only way out.

IN MEMORY OF PROF. MSS. PANDIAN

The sudden and untimely death of M.S.S. Pandian a renowned scholar of our times shocks everyone acquainted with him. Mr. Pandian is well known through his article in the EPW in the year 1993, in support of PALA's (Peoples Art and Literary Association) struggle to ‘Enter the sanctum sanctorum of Srirangam Temple’ at Trichy. During those days PALA was a lone voice to put forth the concept of Brahminical fascism. The left in general was attacking hindutva as an intolerant version of Hinduism, while PALA argued that the essence of Hinduism was brahminism, and this ideological core of Hinduism should be exposed. It did not have much takers at that time, and situation has not changed much even today. The target of the struggle was to expose the illusion of ‘Hindu unity’ and highlight the constitutional sanction accorded to the institution of caste and brahminism in matters of Hindu religious faith. His article, while dwelling into the facts around the struggle, highlighted history and politics behind the struggle, especially about the Dravidian movement and EVR Periyar.
The demise of Mr. Pandian also reminisces the early 1990s, and the emergence of Sangh parivar in the Indian political arena, pronouncing hindutva as its agenda. The deep rooted prejudice and hatred of the ‘north Indian mind’ towards Tamilnadu, for its ‘anti-hindi, anti-brahmin, anti-mainstream’ approach towards the national politics has much to do with this. The north Indian intellectuals in general are ignorant of the rich Tamil tradition which is independent of the brahmanic and sanskritic traditions of the north and are unwilling to learn about the Dravidian movement of Tamilnadu. Mr.Pandian’s writings in English gain significance in this context, as they were instrumental in removing north india’s ignorance, or arrogance to be precise.
His support to the Eelam movement was not unequivocal. His approach towards LTTE was critical, and he didn’t endorse Tamil nationalism devoid of anti-Brahminism. His writings expose MGR and Jayalalitha claiming the legacy of the Dravidian movement. He is also critical in his approach towards the brahminisation of intermediary castes. Recently when the Nadar community (previously shaanars) was up in arms against the NCERT text book, which dealt with the historical fact that shaanars, were treated as untouchables during the 19th century , almost all the political parties joined the chorus against NCERT. But Pandian was unsparing in his critique. He wrote that the clamor for a censored caste history has a right-wing Hindu character to it.
It is a rarity in the Indian scenario, for a public intellectual to profess openly against brahminism and to endure with it all through one’s life. It is also exceptional for such a person to be acclaimed a scholar. Mr. Pandian won it.
In 2012, when TNM conducted the Public meeting on ‘The Politics of Food culture –The Holy Cow and Unholy Swine’ Mr. Pandian was a staunch supporter of the issue of beef and pork. He was not able to be a speaker because of some personal problems, yet, as a mark of support of the issue, he made it a point to attend the programme and commented at the time of question answer session. We cannot forget the regard he had towards the the ML movement and his anguish on the emergence of hindu fascist forces and the decline of the democratic forces. A non-egotist public intellectual he was, and it is deeply saddening when one reminisces his congenial dialogue and warm friendship.

ON THE TUNES OF FASCISM

Modi government’s announcement to use Hindi as the sole medium of communication for government information on social media was just an initial attempt to test the waters. Amid wide-spread opposition, the Union Home Ministry immediately withdrew the announcement and said it did not seek to impose Hindi on states which do not speak this language. But even after its withdrawal, there were reports, especially from the southern states, that warning memos were issued to central government staff who did not attend the Hindi coaching classes. In continuation of this, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a directive to its affiliated schools and letters to the state boards urging them to promote the celebration of Sanskrit Week from August 7 to 13.
The circular, filled with utter lies and brahmanical fraudulence, is audacious-enough to proclaim that Sanskrit is “the mother of all languages”; it doesn’t stop there – it also claims that “Sanskrit and Indian culture are intertwined”, and goes on to say that most of the indigenous knowledge (!?) is available in this language. The circular also directs to increase awareness about ‘close relationship’ between Sanskrit and other languages and cultural heritage of India.
Inviting eminent Sanskrit scholars for interacting with students for promoting daily use of Sanskrit, encouraging students to develop Apps and Games for Sanskrit learning, screening of a Sanskrit films such as ‘Adi Shankaracharya’, ‘Bhagvad Gita-the song of the Lord’, ‘Mudrarakshasa ‘etc. are some of the ways by which Modi government has asked schools to celebrate Sanskrit week. Just by looking at the circular, we can easily understand Modi government’s attempt to impose religion in the name of language.
When the circular says that ‘Sanskrit and Indian culture are intertwined’ it clearly refers to the brahminical-Hindu culture – because literatures of none of the other religions including Jainism and Buddhism are in Sanskrit. Moreover, screening of films about Adi Shankara, Bhagwad Gita, and Sanskrit slogan contests etc are obvious acts of religion imposition. By asking schools to increase awareness about ‘close relationship’ between Sanskrit and other languages, Modi government is trying to establish and strengthen the deceptive claim that Sanskrit is the ‘mother of all languages’.
But, never in history has Sanskrit been an official language of communication either of the governments (kingdoms) or of the people. Religious literatures of anti-Vedic religions such as Buddhism and Jainism are in Pali language; Ashoka’s inscriptions are also in Pali. Many researchers have established that Sanskrit is not an original language – but a mixture of many foreign languages. Researchers have also proved that languages such as Greek, German, and Gothic are sounding similar to Sanskrit.
We don’t deny the fact that Sanskrit is one of the oldest languages. Not only Vedas, Puranas and Itihas are available in Sanskrit – but a number of anti-Vedic, atheist and anti-idealistic literature are also available in Sanskrit. Only by learning such materials, was Ambedkar able to expose the tyranny of Hindu-brahminism; researchers like Debi Prasad Chattopadhyay were able to establish beyond doubt that “Indian philosophical tradition is not just brahminical Hindu tradition – in fact, most of our philosophies are anti-vedic and anti-idealistic”; historical researchers like DD Kosambi were able to liberate our history from the fallacies of the puranas. They were also able to bring out the fact that a great number of Sanskrit books which had anti-brahmanical ideas were destroyed en-masse.
Modi is now asking us to celebrate Sanskrit week; but, it is none other than Modi’s fore-fathers who paved way for Sanskrit’s destruction. A language can survive and develop only in the “tongue” and “ears” of the people. Many of the ancient languages that are surviving to date are able to do so only because they became “Language of the masses”.
But as brahmanism denied right to education and right to worship to the working majority of this country. It proclaimed Sanskrit as ‘deva bhasha’ and banned common people from learning it. The Brahmins even made stringent laws which were used to severely punish any person from ‘lower’ castes who dared to learn Sanskrit and read the Vedas. if the Sudra intentionally listens for committing to memory the Veda , then his ears should be filled with (molten) lead; if he utters the Veda, then his tongue should be cut off.(Manusmriti). It is not surprising that these fellows, who created Sanskrit, also created the extremely evil caste system, which has set the Hindus of different castes and sub-castes at war with one another for ever. Brahmins used Sanskrit as a secret weapon to exert authority over the people. It also created a theory that the stone idol in the temple would get divine powers only when Brahmans recite Sanskrit mantras; no other language has such a power it proclaimed. It is only because this discrimination that milllions and millions of the working majority are not being allowed inside the sanctum of the temple thus distancing them from the language itself. Those Brahmanical forces who destroyed their own language in this way and now are attempting to spend millions of rupees of people’s money to revive it.

Now Modi’s Government says it is going to teach Sanskrit to the common people, who have been left out of the Brahmanical 'tradition of knowledge', and wants to link the language to their everyday life. In fact, majority Brahmans who recite the Sanskrit mantras do not know what it means. When those who use the mantras day-in and day-out do not know its meaning, government’s plan to teach it to common people is absolutely ridiculous!
Modi government’s imposition of Sanskrit is nothing but continuation of its attempt to impose Hindu-fascist ideology of ‘Hindu-Hindi-Hindustan’. It is a brahminical cultural aggression to demolish and destroy the identities of diverse traditions and nationalities. This is next weapon they have taken in their hand, in line with Ayodhya, common civil code, imposition of Hindi and Hinduism in text books. Hindu fascism is doing everything to spread its roots.
What are we waiting for?

WHO IS THE WINNER IN THESE ELECTIONS?

Once again it is proved that the parliamentary mode of democracy is a pseudo democracy. The people perform only one day role by just casting the votes and after that they are never cared. Even the one day role is so manipulated by the corporate and their media. It is neither people nor political parties who are the winner. In this election more than ever, the Indian corporates and foreign investors are the only winners. People were frustrated with the onslaught of neoliberal policies, rising prices, corporate loot of natural resources, weakened political leadership, declining power of elected representatives, and Modi has been able to divert this anger in his favor just as Kejriwal did in Delhi elections few months back.  The very corporates who stripped-off the livelihood and rights of millions of people through the re-colonization policies implemented by Manmohan Singh, have, through this election, reaped the benefit of peoples’ discontentment too! People have to just wait and watch Modi government’s attitude to Dalits, Women, Minorities, Adivasis and other Nationalities.  The BJP, led by Modi, has given the people to believe that replacement of the INC will solve the country’s problems, and has proposed a 3-point macro-agenda of Ram Mandir, Article 370 and Uniform Civil Code. It is a matter of time before people get disillusioned with the BJP (NDA) government and the 16th parliament, simply because the model for development that BJP will follow is not different from what the UPA-1 and UPA-2 (and indeed the NDA before the UPA-1) have been following ever since Manmohan Singh formulated the New Economic Policy in 1991. But this time around, the hold of the big corporations on the print and electronic media and on governments can ensure that dissent and protest is silenced more effectively than UPA could ever do. Total population of India today is 1.27 billion people. The total electorate is 810,000,000, out of which the total polling percentage in this election was 66.3%, which brings the number of people who voted to roughly  541,000,000. The election commission says 165,480,309  people  voted for the BJP i.e., roughly 31% of those who voted.
In other words, 69% of an 810 million strong Indian electorate did not vote for the BJP and yet Modi has come to power. Comparison with vote shares of winning tickets in past elections is instructive. In 1977, the Janata Party got 41.1% for 295 seats. If we add the Janata Party’s allies, who took part in the government it got 52% votes for 345 seats. The combined NDA vote share (BJP+Allies) of votes polled in 2014 does not exceed 35%. A significant feature of the elections has been the decimation of the Pseudo Communist Party’s like CPM, CPI and the revisionists like CPI (ML) Liberation. The failure of parliamentary left is grounded in the errors like of the CPI (M) leadership, especially its opportunistic vacillation vis-à-vis the Congress, for which it needs to take collective responsibility.
The Indian compradors have succeeded in predicting people’s antagonism, steering it in the direction that is beneficial to the corporates, and making people accept a corporate stooge as their own leader. The Indian corporates have, in fact, kicked off the “Modi for PM” campaign as early as 2009; since then they were aggressively spreading the ‘vibrant Gujarat’ myth all over India. Indian corporates had a dream - ‘coronation of Modi as the next PM’; they have succeeded in achieving that by projecting their own dream as dream of the masses! The dream sold through 5,000 crore rupees campaign. This is the true meaning of this victory! Many responsible citizens have exposed the pathetic situation of Gujarat on various counts including literacy, poverty, infant mortality, GDP growth, etc. and most importantly the dismal regard for democracy.
We can proclaim that this election has made the corporates like Tatas, Ambanis and the Adanis to sit in the PM’s chair directly. Even before the start of the election, the corporate rating agency (Moodys) announced the ‘list of tasks that need to be accomplished by the next government (irrespective of whoever comes to power)’. That list includes allowing multi-national corporations to plunder mineral wealth by destroying our pristine forests, rivers and mountains; removing & changing the ‘obstructing’ labor laws (as if they are adhering to them now!); opening-up of all sectors, including insurance, for looting by multinationals, etc. On the other side, RSS has a list of demands including anti-homosexuality law, construction of Ram Mandir, Kashmir issue, uniform civil code etc. that it wants Modi to focus on. RSS would draw people’s attention towards the list of tasks that it wants to accomplish. While RSS holds on to peoples’ attention, Modi would dissect our land into pieces, as instructed by Moodys, and would have started handing them over to Ambanis, Adanis and other multi-national corporations. While newspapers carry ‘sensational’ news items about Indian Mujahedeen, cycle bomb, tiffin-bomb etc. in their headlines, pristine forests and mountains of our beloved nation would have changed hands. A continuum of re-colonization and communalism – we can call it ‘growth-friendly communalism’! The people of India did not quite understand the relationship between the GATT agreement and Babri Masjid demolition when it happened. Now, we have Modi who would make Indians understand the relationship between “growth” and Hindutva. People were duped into voting for this fascist huddle by an extraordinarily well-oiled, well-heeled confluence of corporate media and big industry (owned by each other). The tyranny of the corporate capitalists; the Hindu fascists gang serving as their infantry, ready to unleash the tyranny upon people; a professional killer as their boss; diverse careerist vote bank political parties that are shamelessly willing to join hands with this murderous gang; bureaucrats who are eager to serve as a stooge to this brahministic fascist class; political folly and careerist minded people! It is this combination that has succeeded now. This is what is being shamelessly projected as the victory of democracy.
This judgment looks like the punishment that Indian people have conferred upon themselves for the blunder of not punishing the brahministic fascists. Modi will make people realize “what the punishment is”. We need to assume the responsibility of safeguarding people from that punishment!

REMEMBERING BHAGAT SINGH IN THE ERA OF RECOLONIZATION

A Call to participate in the ‘Freedom Struggle’ against Brahminical Fascism and Re-colonization Process!
The present times are periods of great crisis for national sovereignties. The country which belongs to all of us has been under attack from multinational corporate. In all the sphere of education, economics, politics, family, we are no longer the one to decide our own future. Since the history of “transfer of power” this country has adopted pro-cpaitalist economic policies, which were further accelerated after the 1990’s. The new Mantra of Liberalization-Privatization-Globalization has blinded the political leadership across the parties. The Neo-liberal order has its aim in destroying the public institutions whether it is student unions in the educational institutions, working class unions, peasant movements, or public distribution systems for the safeguards of poor. Multinational corporations flourished on the patronage of Indian state.  Inspite of being able to produce wheat, rice, sugarcane, metal, oil, technologies we were forced to import. We have become ‘slaves’ in our country, the neo-liberal inventions e.g. SEZ are testimony to this.
These times remind us the “real freedom movements” led by the revolutionaries like Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru, Chandrasekhar, Jatin, Asfaqullah etc. during 1920-30’s. They all fought for the reconstruction of society on socialist and egalitarian lines where “no man exploits another man”. They fought for the creation of a caste-less, class-less, non-communal society. These revolutionaries were not just passionate, romantic heroes but they also read and followed Marxist-Leninist writings on communism. Those were the times when Lenin marched the world with the victory of Bolsheviks. Indian revolutionaries were fighting against the colonial rule but were also deeply sensitive to the inequalities of caste, class, sex and religion prevalent in those times as they are today. It is these revolutionaries who gave us the slogan of “INQUILAB ZINDABAD”. The so-called ‘Bapus’ and ‘Mahatmas’ of this country, then, betrayed their own countrymen and called the struggle and sacrifice of these revolutionaries as ‘waste of energies’. Similarly, in Telangana movement in 1940’s and the Naxalbari movement in 1960’s radicalized the call for armed revolution. They sacrificed their lives while fighting for the cause of an egalitarian society which was betrayed by the ruling castes and classes of this country. Thus, in today’s times it becomes moral responsibility for us to uphold those principles for which our revolutionaries sacrificed their lives. In this scenario, let’s understand and resist the politics of global imperial forces that are enslaving our country again.
Take a closer look at what is happening around the world. People of Iraq are being enslaved and tortured in their own country; the Kashmiris are murdered for raising their demand of self-determination. Similarly, the Eelam people are caged inside barbed fences; the North east nationalities are oppressed– they have become refugees in their own motherland. Our nation’s wealth is being plundered without any restriction by large multinational corporations from imperialistic countries like the US, and their comprador bourgeois Indian partners like the Ambani’s, Adani’s, Mittal’s and Tata’s. But when it comes to providing basic amenities to its own citizens like education, healthcare, drinking water etc. the government says it does not have enough money in its budget. World Bank issues orders to our government to cut down the money spent for the welfare of the people– our government heeds to such orders without a word and cuts down its expenses on education, agriculture, small industries, petrol, diesel, gas etc. We have lost our right to free education – who is responsible for that? It is our government which, instead of considering education as a basic and necessary service to be offered to its citizens, declares it as a commodity and allows private players to exploit. The state educational institutions, where poor are getting educated, are deliberately undermined. Private educational institutions, which are nothing but robbers’ dens, proliferate and thrive. Birla & Ambani report guides this government, it has created a number of thugs in the field of education like the business schools, managemet schools, IIPM, Lovely University, Azim Premji University, Amity University, etc. These bandits have developed themselves as mini-comprador bourgeois. As if these are not enough, foreign universities are also allowed into the country to loot their share.
This does not stop with education; whatever wealth our nation possesses, every piece of it is being targeted by multinational corporations. For instance, Coal, is one of our primary sources of energy for producing electricity, iron & steel etc. Industries will come to a standstill without electricity or iron. Our coal reserves would not last even for 40 more years. The multinational corporations and their comprador Indian partners are mining immeasurable amount of coal and exporting them. Recently we have also come to know about the Coalgate scandal which is estimated to be worth more than 10 lakh crores. It is this treacherous government which has paved way for destroying the very source of life of this nation.
Similarly, Nokia, which started business in India with a capital of just Rs. 1500 crores has taken home profits worth Rs. 40,000 crores. This profit is a result of sucking of blood and sweat out of our poor labourers. But this is what is being falsely projected by our ruling class as ‘development’, ‘good governance’, ‘becoming superpower’ etc. Majority of the people in this nation are starving; whereas a small gang of multinational and local corporate mafia are amassing wealth by plundering this nation’s riches – this being the case, how is it possible to accept the story of development? Gujarat government has converted that state as a hunting ground for multinational corporations by keeping its door ever-open for them to enter anytime with ease; the state has enacted a number of fascist laws to unleash repression upon people to prevent them from carrying out any struggle against such a brutal day-light robbery – can we describe this as ‘good governance’ by Modi?
Can we allow such plunders that demolishes the very base of this nation? Poor Dalits, backward castes, landless laborers, poor women and minorities etc. are directly impacted by this. It is them, who have lost their livelihood because of this, are carrying-out heroic struggles in many parts of this country. The farmers of Nandigram faced police bullets for carrying-out struggle against giving away well-yielding agricultural farmlands to multinational car company; the fishermen of Tuticorin district in the other corner of this country are also facing state’s oppression for carrying out struggle against the illegal sand mining. Also the continuous resistance through Anti-POSCO struggles, Kudankulam agitation. But, this government is terribly oppressing farmers, labourers, fishermen and tribal people who are fighting against such barbaric loot; it is unleashing police and armed forces to torture and kill them. Adivasis in Chattisgarh are carrying out struggle to protect the natural resources – but the government has unleashed full-fledged civil war named as ‘Operation Green hunt’ to suppress their struggle. The duty of our government is that of a hitman – to oppress our people in order to facilitate the superpowers like the US to get hold our nation’s wealth. If we look a bit carefully, we can understand the conspiracy of Indian government. Only scenes have changed – but the slavery exists as it is. Those times, it was Governor-General; today it is Prime Minister. Those times the skin was white; today it is multicoloured. The skin colour of the ruling class has changed – but the slavery has not!
Those days, the English needed guns, bullets and a number of battles to capture our country. Today just a pen, ink, and couple of agreements are enough! Indian government is enslaving our nation again i.e., it is re-colonising our nation by blindly signing agreements like GATT and GATS; all these agreements are thrown upon us by the usuries of the US, namely the World Bank and the IMF, and its lackey, the WTO. Wanting to keep India as one of its loyal and best henchman in the South Asian region, the US has thrust upon India a number of military and nuclear agreements (123 is just an example which is in the field of nuclear co-operation); by doing so, the US has snatched away even that last bit of sovereignty that our nation had.
Dear friend, our nation is being enslaved invisibly through a number of “agreements and treaties” – this new state of slavery is represented by the term ‘Recolonization’. Recolonization is much more brutal than colonization. Just think about this – the natural wealth created over millions of years is being destroyed by multi-national corporations. Our hard work is being sucked away by multinational corporations with absolutely no use for our nation or our people. It does not stop with just natural resources – about 5 lakh crores of tax payers’ money has been given away to multinational corporations as subsidies and tax concessions by our government. It is not just the Congress & BJP, but all vote-bank political parties, without any exception, have whole-heartedly accepted the re-colonization policies of Liberalization, Privatization and Globalization (LPG). Our vote-bank political parties and politicians are the agents who are mortgaging our nation to the imperial forces.
Is it appropriate in any sense to allow them to rule us? The multinational corporations dictate who needs to become a prime minister in this nation and who all needs to become MPs and MLAs. When such people, who are identified by Corporates, are sitting in parliament and assemblies, how will our problems get addressed? It is IMPOSSIBLE. The youth, labourers and other people from the working class should get away from this vote-bank politics, form an association, and start preparing themselves for another liberation struggle.
Honour is to fight for liberation. We, the students should fight like Bhagat Singh and many likes him against global imperialism. Let us arouse our people. Let us ignite another freedom struggle. Let us tear into pieces the enslaving agreements like the GATT and GATS. Let us defeat the process of re-colonization. Let us liberate our nation from the clutches of multinational corporations, their partners and their stooges. Let us become a morning-star to the whole world.

Come - let us carryout another freedom struggle!
Let us stop our country from being enslaved again!
Let us rescue our country from hands of the traitors!

KASHMIR: INDIAN JUDICIARY WILL NOT PUNISH THE MURDEROUS INDIAN ARMY

The year 2000 is always remembered for its ever fading incidence that took place especially the month of March. In this month after 22 years, an American President’s visit to India explicitly announced the changes in the political and geographical alliances in the sub-continent regions that had taken place ever since the Cold War. Clinton visit was celebrated with all pride and pomp by India, terming it as a defeat of Pakistan’s diplomatic relationship. Without any shame India announced it as a great victory in achieving the friendly relationship of the super power from its competitor in this sub-continent region. The same was even announced by the ruling class. There was boundless happiness to the corporate media and its joy had no limits. During this event, one evening on March 20th at Kashmir 17 armed men in the wearing Indian Army fatigues entered the village of Chattisinghpura of Anantnag District. It ordered the members of Sikh community to assemble at the entrance of village Gurudwara. All men and children assembled at the entrance of village Gurudwara. On the spur of the moment a gun fire was conducted on the unarmed civilians. 34 people were killed in this dreadful massacre. After this brutal massacre furiously the ruling political class and media complained it as Pakistan’s conspiracy to attack India. Aftermath the massacre there was a wide spread propaganda stating Pakistan was envoys because of Clinton’s trip to India entered into such cowardice attack. Immediately, the Government of India vowed that it would retaliate. On March 25, 2000 Indian army entered village at Pathribal at Anantnag District and it surrounded a small hut.  Indian Army with all pride announced that members of the terrorist troop were attacked by the Indian army and during that attack five people were killed. America condemned this Chattisinghpura massacre said this attack was done by some unidentified group. Later in 2004, Bill Clinton in his autobiography “My Life” has mentioned as “unidentified”group. In the same year, Clinton’s close associate Strobe Talbott in his book wrote Clinton did not believe that Pakistan had its hand in this Chattisinghpura massacre. Immediately, aftermath the Pathribal encounter people from that village entered into protest. The local population informed that the people who was attacked during the encounter were innocent civilians who belong to the same village they are not terrorist. Further, from March 21st to 24th March Indian army approximately took 17 members and those members were missing. Subsequent to this incident there was wide spread protest rising in Kashmir. Because of the rising protest by people of Kashmir, when the protest reached its heights Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah ordered for a probe. The corpus of the persons who were killed and the DNA samples of close relatives of the missing persons were collected and were sent for Forensic investigation to Kolkata and Hyderabad. After investigation and inquiry it was found that persons who were killed in the encounter on April 2002 and persons who were missing are not “foreign militants”, they are innocent civilians belonging to the same village. Subsequently, on January 2003 CBI was appointed to investigate this fake encounter. Meanwhile, America refused to recognize and declare that Pakistan terrorists and ISI intelligence agency had its involvement in the Chattisinghpura Sikh Massacre. During these circumstances there was an unexpected turning point. Government of India announces two terrorists belonging to Lashkar-e-Taiba who were involved in attack were arrested by the Indian Army in the August 2000. Mohamed Suhail Malik, who was one of the terrorist arrested, gave an interview to New York Times in the month of December the very same year.
In the history of India a great wonder took place when an arrested Pakistani terrorist giving an interview to an American newspaper. During his interview he gave a confession that he belonged to Sialkot region and Lashkar organization has trained him for terrorist activity he along with his companion has intruded and has committed the Chattissinghpura Sikh Massacre. This story did not conclude here. A last turning point took place after 10 years. The Delhi High Court which was hearing the Chattissinghpura Sikh Massacre on 10th August, 2011 acquitted the two militants, Mohamed Suhail Malik and Wasim Ahmed the co-accused who was arrested along with him stating that, they did not had any relation with the Massacre. Meanwhile, CBI which concluded its enquiry on Pathribal Fake Encounter gave a report stating that persons who were killed are innocent civilians and that was a fake encounter. Brigadier Ajay Saxena, Major Bijendra Pratap Singh, Major Saurabh Sharma, Major Amit Saxena and Subedar Idris Khan according to CBI these were the persons responsible to said fake encounter. Outcome of this truth made several human rights activist and some democratic organizations to get agitated. Before the Division Bench of the Supreme Court, the CBI placed its observation on the investigation and argued furnishing all the evidence. The outcome of its report was what has happened at Pathribal village was a cold-blooded murder. On June 2012, the Army which has foreseen the outcome of the proceeding requested a court-martial proceeding before the Supreme Court. On 23rd December 2013, the military tribunal disposed of the case stating the evidence recorded could not establish a prima-facie case against any of the accused persons. One of the victim Abdul Rasheed Khan (Shakoor Ahmad Khan) whose father Juma Khan was killed in fake encounter says “The very day when the Supreme Court denied the argument of CBI and transferred the case to Military Tribunal, we lost our confidence.  But still we appeared with the thought because of non-appearance of witnesses the case should not get disposed off. We were well aware of the outcome of this decision.”Any individual who rationally analyse the incident of the Indian Army can come to a conclusion that it is a cold-blooded murder. Any one can realize the injustice and the brutal act of the Army. This kind of brutality against the innocent civilians of Kashmir time now and then has led to frustration and turning them towards terrorism. This is because of the Government of India’s atrocities in comparison with Pakistan’s instigation.
Kashmiri people realized that Indian army is a murderous army and Indian justice system is nothing but a system of INJUSTICE. Support the RIGHT TO SELF-DETERMINATION of Kashmiris including the right to secession.

AAP – NEW BROOM TO BEAUTIFY THE DEGENERATED PARLIAMENTARY POLITICS

Media is admiring the victory achieved by the AAP within a very short span of 14 months from the date of formation of the party, that too against two of the biggest money-and-muscle-powered parties, the Congress and the BJP. Though it is true to some extent, the victory is not a tough riddle to crack. These very media on its own took charge of the initial advertisement and promotional activities for AAP; these media were projecting the ludicrous hunger strike drama of Anna Hazare as one of the greatest people movements in India.
Government was in a dire need to veil the lawful plundering of nations’ wealth by the corporate MNCs; there are mass struggles almost in all parts of the country against the policies of the state. There was an urgent need for the government to project Anna Hazare as an Avtar Purush in order to divert growing anger and frustration of the people, who are victims of re-colonization policy of the state. In almost all parts of the developing world, the World Bank is in the process of building movements with slogans such as “Good Governance”, “Stop Corruption” etc.,; and Anna Hazare is a winner of World Bank's 2008 Jit Gill Memorial Award for Outstanding Public Service. This being the case, it does not require any special investigative expertise to detect, discover and understand the linkage between Anna and World Bank. At the same time, it is also important to remember that Arvind Kejriwal, who was a media sensation during the ‘hunger strike’ times, was appreciated as “emerging new leadership” and has been given Rockefeller Foundation’s Magsaysay award.
The public anger due to skyrocketing electricity and water charges at Delhi was in favour of AAP. Instead of revealing the fact that such a price rise is a result of “privatization”, AAP was depicting it as a result of “corruption and mismanagement”. An analysis of AAP’s support base would reveal that a majority of them belong to upper middle class – a mixture of IIT graduates, heads of MNCs and IT companies, Civil Service aspirants, and heads of all kinds of NGOs. Not only that, it is of primary importance to note that they all gained ‘political consciousness’ only by Anna Hazare’s hunger strike! Three distinct and contradicting classes of people, with contradicting thoughts and interests, have supported the AAP – (a) the upper middle class, which is of the opinion that implementation of Liberalization and Privatization policies, without any interference or corruption by politicians and bureaucrats, is the only way to develop the nation; (b) the lower middle class – which has developed hatred upon corrupt politicians and the privatization policies of the government due to skyrocketing electricity, water and other prices; (c) the bottom-most class – which is not only in the verge of losing its livelihood due to ever-reducing wages and ever-increasing prices, but is also in the verge of losing its life due to reduction of even the miniscule social welfare benefits that were available to them like free health, education etc, as their survival depends on these facilities.
In an interview to Open Magazine, when asked about AAP’s standpoint on the issues faced by the people, Kejriwal says: ‘I want to make it very clear: we are not wedded to any ideology. Second thing: we are very clear that government has no business to be in business. As far as the corporate sector is concerned… trade needs to be encouraged. We want honest businesses. Certainly, the corporate sector has a big role to play in the country. Let me also tell you, barring a few people, most businessmen themselves are victims of corruption and not perpetrators’. But when Kejriwal calls Corporates, who are the ‘root-cause of the problem of corruption’, as ‘victims of corruption’, it is not difficult to understand to which ‘policy’ he is being wedded to! But Prashant Bhushan, who is also a member of AAP, has made a statement that is completely contradictory and opposite to what Kejriwal had mentioned: ‘the most sinister impact on the country is the creation of a corporate mafia which has gained control over the entire establishment and the decision-making machinery while most of the major political parties, including the Congress and the BJP, have become mere puppets under it’. Another AAP leader Yogendra Yadav says, ‘AAP does not subscribe to any of the pre-packaged ideologies of the 20th century. 20th century gave us large ideological packages as I said, highly stylized, very pre-determined, connected to each other, and, therefore, they gave the impression of being whole integrated things. But in reality, these were highly contrived packages. We are concerned about the last individual… But at the same time if someone says we cannot give up the public sector and subsidies, then he is confusing the agenda.’ Yadav in his own intellectual fashion reflects Kejriwal’s thoughts that a common man can benefit only through privatization. At a time when wealth of the nation and that of the people is legally opened-up for plunder by corporate MNCs and comprador bourgeois; when re-colonial slavery is legalized and voices raised against it are crushed in the name of sedition; when people are robbed off their land and their livelihood; when basic welfare measures like education and hospitals are opened up for loot by private corporates – AAP never spoke about any of these issues and talks only about eradication of corruption, as if that is the only problem of this nation.Already, the powers of parliament have been cut-short; most of the powers, which were once exclusive to parliament and legislature, are now hijacked by bureaucrats and comprador bourgeois by establishing ‘Regulatory Authorities’ – they are not able to make policies and rules according to their own wishes. When such core and life-threatening issues are going-on in the mainstream, AAP never spoke about any of these and deliberately diverted its attention by talking about providing more powers to residential committees, distribution of power etc. which are in no way connected to real issue at hand.
Kejriwal remains silent about some of the most important and core issues of our nation, which needs to be dealt with ideological clarity – like Kashmir issue, atrocities against dalits, Hindu fundamentalism, anti-Pak politics etc., are some of them. When asked about Modi, he says “no comments on individuals” – which is completely absurd and an escapist strategy. In AAP meetings, Kejriwal shout slogans like, ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’. A sample survey in Delhi says half of the voters of AAP are supporters of Modi and are expressing anti-Pak sentiments. What is the meaning of Kejriwal’s silence? A person who says he has no opinion about contradicting ideologies and class interests, who says he does not have a policy of his own – can be very dangerous.  When a question arose after the election as to whether AAP can form government with the support of Congress, it escaped from taking such an important policy decision by passing on the decision making responsibility to people; not only that…it also project such a silly action as a very great democratic act!
After coming to power AAP fulfilled its promises on water and electricity. The Auditing officer has been asked to audit the accounts of companies owned by TATA and Ambani, which were showing losses. The media of the ruling class was furious about this. Be it free water or reduction in electricity tariff - if the government subsidizes from its tax income, it will definitely increase its financial burden. It is true that AAP likes to be good to all and do good to all. But unless something is taken from one class, nothing can be given to another. Unless agreements with TATA’s and Ambani’s are terminated, it is impossible to provide water free of cost or electricity at a reduced tariff. Will Kejiriwal do so? If we imagine so, then it has to be ready to face the ire of the ruling class, the bureaucrats, the judiciary, and international financial institutions. Kejriwal’s says that good governance can be ensured once the corruption that is depraving the parliamentary democracy is abolished – not only this imaginative tale, his very own government would collapse in front of his own eyes. When that happens, the truth will be revealed that this very political system and re-colonization policies are first and foremost sources of corruption!
