REMEMBERING BHAGAT SINGH IN THE ERA OF RECOLONIZATION

A Call to participate in the ‘Freedom Struggle’ against Brahminical Fascism and Re-colonization Process!
The present times are periods of great crisis for national sovereignties. The country which belongs to all of us has been under attack from multinational corporate. In all the sphere of education, economics, politics, family, we are no longer the one to decide our own future. Since the history of “transfer of power” this country has adopted pro-cpaitalist economic policies, which were further accelerated after the 1990’s. The new Mantra of Liberalization-Privatization-Globalization has blinded the political leadership across the parties. The Neo-liberal order has its aim in destroying the public institutions whether it is student unions in the educational institutions, working class unions, peasant movements, or public distribution systems for the safeguards of poor. Multinational corporations flourished on the patronage of Indian state.  Inspite of being able to produce wheat, rice, sugarcane, metal, oil, technologies we were forced to import. We have become ‘slaves’ in our country, the neo-liberal inventions e.g. SEZ are testimony to this.
These times remind us the “real freedom movements” led by the revolutionaries like Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru, Chandrasekhar, Jatin, Asfaqullah etc. during 1920-30’s. They all fought for the reconstruction of society on socialist and egalitarian lines where “no man exploits another man”. They fought for the creation of a caste-less, class-less, non-communal society. These revolutionaries were not just passionate, romantic heroes but they also read and followed Marxist-Leninist writings on communism. Those were the times when Lenin marched the world with the victory of Bolsheviks. Indian revolutionaries were fighting against the colonial rule but were also deeply sensitive to the inequalities of caste, class, sex and religion prevalent in those times as they are today. It is these revolutionaries who gave us the slogan of “INQUILAB ZINDABAD”. The so-called ‘Bapus’ and ‘Mahatmas’ of this country, then, betrayed their own countrymen and called the struggle and sacrifice of these revolutionaries as ‘waste of energies’. Similarly, in Telangana movement in 1940’s and the Naxalbari movement in 1960’s radicalized the call for armed revolution. They sacrificed their lives while fighting for the cause of an egalitarian society which was betrayed by the ruling castes and classes of this country. Thus, in today’s times it becomes moral responsibility for us to uphold those principles for which our revolutionaries sacrificed their lives. In this scenario, let’s understand and resist the politics of global imperial forces that are enslaving our country again.
Take a closer look at what is happening around the world. People of Iraq are being enslaved and tortured in their own country; the Kashmiris are murdered for raising their demand of self-determination. Similarly, the Eelam people are caged inside barbed fences; the North east nationalities are oppressed– they have become refugees in their own motherland. Our nation’s wealth is being plundered without any restriction by large multinational corporations from imperialistic countries like the US, and their comprador bourgeois Indian partners like the Ambani’s, Adani’s, Mittal’s and Tata’s. But when it comes to providing basic amenities to its own citizens like education, healthcare, drinking water etc. the government says it does not have enough money in its budget. World Bank issues orders to our government to cut down the money spent for the welfare of the people– our government heeds to such orders without a word and cuts down its expenses on education, agriculture, small industries, petrol, diesel, gas etc. We have lost our right to free education – who is responsible for that? It is our government which, instead of considering education as a basic and necessary service to be offered to its citizens, declares it as a commodity and allows private players to exploit. The state educational institutions, where poor are getting educated, are deliberately undermined. Private educational institutions, which are nothing but robbers’ dens, proliferate and thrive. Birla & Ambani report guides this government, it has created a number of thugs in the field of education like the business schools, managemet schools, IIPM, Lovely University, Azim Premji University, Amity University, etc. These bandits have developed themselves as mini-comprador bourgeois. As if these are not enough, foreign universities are also allowed into the country to loot their share.
This does not stop with education; whatever wealth our nation possesses, every piece of it is being targeted by multinational corporations. For instance, Coal, is one of our primary sources of energy for producing electricity, iron & steel etc. Industries will come to a standstill without electricity or iron. Our coal reserves would not last even for 40 more years. The multinational corporations and their comprador Indian partners are mining immeasurable amount of coal and exporting them. Recently we have also come to know about the Coalgate scandal which is estimated to be worth more than 10 lakh crores. It is this treacherous government which has paved way for destroying the very source of life of this nation.
Similarly, Nokia, which started business in India with a capital of just Rs. 1500 crores has taken home profits worth Rs. 40,000 crores. This profit is a result of sucking of blood and sweat out of our poor labourers. But this is what is being falsely projected by our ruling class as ‘development’, ‘good governance’, ‘becoming superpower’ etc. Majority of the people in this nation are starving; whereas a small gang of multinational and local corporate mafia are amassing wealth by plundering this nation’s riches – this being the case, how is it possible to accept the story of development? Gujarat government has converted that state as a hunting ground for multinational corporations by keeping its door ever-open for them to enter anytime with ease; the state has enacted a number of fascist laws to unleash repression upon people to prevent them from carrying out any struggle against such a brutal day-light robbery – can we describe this as ‘good governance’ by Modi?
Can we allow such plunders that demolishes the very base of this nation? Poor Dalits, backward castes, landless laborers, poor women and minorities etc. are directly impacted by this. It is them, who have lost their livelihood because of this, are carrying-out heroic struggles in many parts of this country. The farmers of Nandigram faced police bullets for carrying-out struggle against giving away well-yielding agricultural farmlands to multinational car company; the fishermen of Tuticorin district in the other corner of this country are also facing state’s oppression for carrying out struggle against the illegal sand mining. Also the continuous resistance through Anti-POSCO struggles, Kudankulam agitation. But, this government is terribly oppressing farmers, labourers, fishermen and tribal people who are fighting against such barbaric loot; it is unleashing police and armed forces to torture and kill them. Adivasis in Chattisgarh are carrying out struggle to protect the natural resources – but the government has unleashed full-fledged civil war named as ‘Operation Green hunt’ to suppress their struggle. The duty of our government is that of a hitman – to oppress our people in order to facilitate the superpowers like the US to get hold our nation’s wealth. If we look a bit carefully, we can understand the conspiracy of Indian government. Only scenes have changed – but the slavery exists as it is. Those times, it was Governor-General; today it is Prime Minister. Those times the skin was white; today it is multicoloured. The skin colour of the ruling class has changed – but the slavery has not!
Those days, the English needed guns, bullets and a number of battles to capture our country. Today just a pen, ink, and couple of agreements are enough! Indian government is enslaving our nation again i.e., it is re-colonising our nation by blindly signing agreements like GATT and GATS; all these agreements are thrown upon us by the usuries of the US, namely the World Bank and the IMF, and its lackey, the WTO. Wanting to keep India as one of its loyal and best henchman in the South Asian region, the US has thrust upon India a number of military and nuclear agreements (123 is just an example which is in the field of nuclear co-operation); by doing so, the US has snatched away even that last bit of sovereignty that our nation had.
Dear friend, our nation is being enslaved invisibly through a number of “agreements and treaties” – this new state of slavery is represented by the term ‘Recolonization’. Recolonization is much more brutal than colonization. Just think about this – the natural wealth created over millions of years is being destroyed by multi-national corporations. Our hard work is being sucked away by multinational corporations with absolutely no use for our nation or our people. It does not stop with just natural resources – about 5 lakh crores of tax payers’ money has been given away to multinational corporations as subsidies and tax concessions by our government. It is not just the Congress & BJP, but all vote-bank political parties, without any exception, have whole-heartedly accepted the re-colonization policies of Liberalization, Privatization and Globalization (LPG). Our vote-bank political parties and politicians are the agents who are mortgaging our nation to the imperial forces.
Is it appropriate in any sense to allow them to rule us? The multinational corporations dictate who needs to become a prime minister in this nation and who all needs to become MPs and MLAs. When such people, who are identified by Corporates, are sitting in parliament and assemblies, how will our problems get addressed? It is IMPOSSIBLE. The youth, labourers and other people from the working class should get away from this vote-bank politics, form an association, and start preparing themselves for another liberation struggle.
Honour is to fight for liberation. We, the students should fight like Bhagat Singh and many likes him against global imperialism. Let us arouse our people. Let us ignite another freedom struggle. Let us tear into pieces the enslaving agreements like the GATT and GATS. Let us defeat the process of re-colonization. Let us liberate our nation from the clutches of multinational corporations, their partners and their stooges. Let us become a morning-star to the whole world.

Come - let us carryout another freedom struggle!
Let us stop our country from being enslaved again!
Let us rescue our country from hands of the traitors!
